I was born in London and educated at the Lycée Francais de Londres. After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in Modern Languages I worked as a film researcher, notably for screenwriter Robert Bolt (The Mission), then as a script reader and in film production at Acorn Pictures, the independent film company behind Educating Rita. Later I gained a Higher Diploma in painting at the Slade and established myself as an artist, selling my work through Anthony Mould gallery in Bond St. More recently I graduated with distinction from the MA in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University. My graduation novel, a YA love story, was inspired by my family connection to the East coast of America and longlisted for the Chicken House Children’s Novel Competition 2016. My next novel, set in the badlands of New Mexico, was longlisted for the Mslexia Novel Competition 2018 and the Mslexia Children’s Novel Award in 2019. I am currently working on my fourth book, an adult historical novel and am agented by Veronique Baxter at David Highams Associates. I live between the Auvergne in France and Shoreditch in East London with my husband, the artist Brad Lochore.
